![]() ![]() More on a gtr head or aftermarket plenum with big TB. With a 12:1 CR I can't see why a RB25/6 combo can't reach over 300 flywheel Hp. Hydraulic lifters are really useless, and you'd be best off going for Tomei solid lifters, and 270deg cams with 10.2mm lift for best torque and power. Of course the Crank would have to be balanced, and upgraded rods used, but if the harmonics are right, you could get 9000rpm+. You could use an RB26 crank, and stock RB25 pistons and get the same result as shaving the block 2mm, and gain much more rev capability. If you have a Series 2 R33 or newer, you have a very good oil pump for example. It is worth considering using the original RB25 block. It should be considered that an RB30DE is not the only option. I've been researching for a bit to build a unique second car and have been thinking of a skyline NA. There are definately other options to go. running a big airflow meter and throttle body the same size.Īlso is regards to the write up. All you need for good SR20 NA power is good rods, a 12:1cr with the PISTONS (not dodgey mods such as shaving the head), and some big lift and decent duration cams (above 260deg) and a good tuning program. Basically don't go too far with revs for an SR20, as the head doesn't like above 8000rpm without heavy modification. Great write up, wish they could write something up on NA sr20'sīasically have a look at what tomei does with it's SR22DE genesis engines. ![]()
